Healthy and Pain-free living

You should find acupuncture to be a calming and relaxing experience and one that you look forward to.  Many people come to their first appointment apprehensive about dealing with needles but leave feeling reassured and relaxed.  I will talk you through the whole process and you can stop me and ask questions any time you like.  I will always be honest if I think acupuncture can’t help your condition or if I think additional intervention is required.

Acupuncture is one aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (the others are nutrition, massage, exercise and herbal medicine) and we diagnose all and any conditions according to holistic principles - that means, seeing the whole picture rather than individual symptoms. Patients look to acupuncture to relieve diverse symptoms covering all body systems e.g. muscular, nervous, cardio-vascular, skeletal. So on any given day, I might see people with osteo/rheumatoid arthritis, insomnia, anxiety, migraines/headaches, back/shoulder/neck pain, fertility/gynaecological issues, or IBS.

I am a qualified and fully insured acupuncturist, and a member of the British Acupuncture Council, with over 26 years experience working as an acupuncturist and clinic director in Edinburgh (working as Rachael Forrest).
